University of Rochester

The University of Rochester was founded in 1850 as a Baptist-sponsored institution. The impetus to form the university came primarily from the little town of Hamilton, New York, which has been home to Colgate University since 1819. The official flower of the university is the dandelion, purportedly prolific on the cow pasture that became the university's first campus. The mascot is the Yellowjacket, when the university re-designed the mascot during the 2007-2008 academic year, a new name was chosen and as of February 1, 2008, the school's mascot has been known as "Rocky." The motto of UR is Meliora, which loosely means "better" with the connotation of "ever better", which is the meaning adopted by the university

From Irving, TX to Rochester University is about1446 miles and it takes about 22 hours and 12 minutes.
Our total is 57.84 gallons of gas and our total cost of gas is $231.36 dollars just to get there.
If we decide to take an airplane it would cost about $139 + $14 from taxes and including fees all toatal will be $153 and its will take about 4 hours and 45 minutes. I believe it would be better to take a flight you would save more money.
